It’s going to be used as a varmint rifle and spare deer rifle for a couple of friends who hunt with me and don’t own guns. Also, I need something that would be a good rifle for my niece to start with next year.
can you use them for deer, hogs, and black bear hunting? anyone with experience with these dogs? thanks
This is the second groundhog that I got this year. May 9, 2009
Man I love seeing him on the ranch, working like the Marlboro man.
He cuts his own brush for the camera’s. He hunts down varmints. And then he’ll make one of his press conferences bashing something some Democrat did somewhere.
What a dreamy uniter of government.
He broke a record this week. He’s the most vacationed President ever and he’s been at war for almost his entire Presidency. Man, that’s a hands off style!
Go get em Buckaroo!
So how many trees will the little Buckaroo cut this vacation?

the only thing i worried about is exercise and their shit in the house?
if there inside or in the kennel, for exercise should i make a trap door or something that leads to the back for them to get exercise and for them to pee and shit outside?
if kids go to school and you and your wife have like a 5-8 hour job whats a good this to do?
Please suggest other ideas also

please no stupid answers.
Thanks for the Help!!!
what are the rules and regulations for hunting say deer with rifle.
and are there any safety courses that must be taken before one can get a license??
I’d like to own a pellet rifle, not for hunting varmints or killing pests, just for fun. I have ample room to shoot safely, but I want a quiet rifle just to make sure I don’t bother/scare the neighbors. I looked at the crosman quest at dick’s sporting goods for ; it looks like a well made, not too expensive rifle, and it was comfortable to hold/aim. The sales guy said it was reasonably accurate but might be a little loud for my purposes, and really designed more for small varmints rather than recreational target shooting. The only rifle they had with a lower velocity was more of a kid’s gun with a synthetic stock, and it was just too light and small to be comfortable. Any suggestions for a full sized pellet rifle with wooden stock that produces velocities under 1000fps? I may just have to suck it up and let the neighbors know before I go out back to shoot.
Thanks
How would the sound level of said rifle compare to a .22lr rifle? I’ve shot those before, but I don’t have room to do that where I live now.
i want to hunt either rabbit or birds (grouse, duck, etc.) and possibly small small varmints.
now ive got a small gun now, a pistol bb gun,
and i was wondering if that would be ok to use, or if it would even work at all. i know it seems like it wouldnt work so good so i was wondering if it will or not. cuz i dont wanna be one a meanie to whatevers hunted that day lol
but also, anyone got any tips for the hunt? season times? whats hunted during which season? and how to clean the game, cuz ive never cleaned my game before, or seen anyone do so. im pretty new to this..
a gun club?! kool i didnt know they had those!
i dont wanna go thru any courses tho cuz id rather be taught by family ..
i just havent asked to go yet, and i wasnt sure on the gun.
i will not wait any longer to learn. just cuz im a teen doesnt mean that im unable to learn. best to learn young anyhow cuz i dont wanna go sport hunting really, i mean like actual kind..
sounds kinda foolish of me, but all i can do is try, and i aint got nothin to lose except a few bucks for a gun..

Hunting: More than Just a Sport
Hunters today face a controversial issue, many people view hunting as a bloodthirsty sport or a meaningless hobby. In order to steer people away from this mindset we must point out the side of hunting that a majority of the population may not see or are completely unaware of. Hunting in itself does not have to be merely a sport, in one of its best forms hunting is a relaxing and fulfilling time with nature that is passed down through generations as a strong family tradition. Teaching children not only about hunting alone, but also about a respect for the environment, wildlife conservation, and family values.
Days in our society can often be long and busy. This being said, nearly every soul on the planet could benefit from stepping out into the pure basics of wildlife and enjoying the peaceful quiet of nature. When I look back on my childhood, the memories that stand out the most are those times out in the woods with my father. As my father would point out various bits and pieces of wildlife, he would always take the time to explain each of them to me. It was there in those woods that I derived a pure and deep respect for wildlife, a respect so deep because it was acquired through years of passed down knowledge and an honest love for the environment.
Hunting is wildlife conservation in its most basic form; it is through hunting that an understanding of the need for wildlife conservation can be logically drawn. If not for hunting, many animals could become overpopulated and die of starvation and/or disease. Without an understanding of the need for wildlife conservation, the animals of our planet and ultimately the human race, will suffer. Wildlife conservation is the conservation of not only wildlife, but also of life itself. Take away conservation and we could not have many of the things we enjoy, and often take for granted currently.
In the woods some of the most important and meaningful family values are taught. Honesty and integrity are taught when a parent explains that they always follow the rules and regulations whether or not someone is watching. A child learns that every organism on the planet has value as parents show their children how to carefully walk through the wildlife as to not disturb anything more than they have to. Children are taught not to be greedy and to never take more they need as parents teach them to kill only what they are willing to eat. Hunting provides parents with a wonderful opportunity to teach these values and many others that will be useful in the woods and in everyday life.
Hunting is an important part of our culture and can be used not only as a pastime but also as an incredible tool for teaching the children of our society. We cannot let a misunderstanding of its intents and purposes stop us from seeing the good that can come. Hunting may not be the pastime of choice for everyone but through a greater understanding of the sport itself, we as a society can begin to accept it, and through this hunters of the future may not face such a controversial issue.
I was not asking for a critique on my opinion on hunting rather for critique on the structure and/or grammer of the Essay itself. Bt thanks for your opinion anyway
I wish they had stuck with Afleck. Tom Clancy loved his role as Jack Ryan so much that he wrote "Red Rabbit" specificaly for Ben Afleck to play him again in a movie based on it. Jack was designed in the younger look around Ben Afleck for the book.
Problem with doing some of the books is time.
The books with Jack Ryan are:
Red Rabbit
Hunt for Red October (done)
Patriot Games (Done)
Cardinal of the Kremlin (one of the first books to be considered for a book)
Clear and Present Danger (done)
Sum of all Fears (done)
Debt of Honor (also been considered)
Executive Orders
Bear and Dragon
Teeth of the Tiger (much older Jack)
I hope they start with Red Rabbit, it would be perfect for Pine’s age and looks.
Red Rabbit:
Jack Ryan has survived Patriot Games and has yet to do Hunt. He has been assigned through his actions in PG to work in London office as a trans Atlantic CIA agent.
On the day he arrives, he recives a very disturbing report. With Soviet tentions in Poland, (nearly a revolution), the pope in Rome has threatened to return home, which would rally the people greatly.
Russia cant afford this and plots to assasinate the pope.
I dont know if 100% of it is based on fact, but it is based on the 1980-1981 attempt to kill the pope.
I’m purchasing my first air rifle for target practice, perhaps a little varmint hunting, and some basic shooting fun. I’ve narrowed my air rifle search to the Beeman SS1000 and Gamo Hunter Sport (both .177 cal). They’re very comparable in features + price. Both report max velocities of 1000 fps and include scopes (3-9×32 and 3-9×40 respectively). Bottom line: which is better and why? Thanks for your help.
Second groundhog hunt, this time with my Benjamin Discovery .22 using the usual JSB predator at a distance of 10 yards.
Anyone have experience/ratings for the Truglo 8-32X44 scope for varmint hunting? I own a Simmons Prairie master 8-32X44 and it is a great scope but no longer made. I called Natchez and they said these two makes are not the same scope. The price is about out the door for the Truglo and is about the same for the Prairie master scope I own.
