One of my favorite book series (some of which are movies and some arent) is Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan Series.

I knwo they are supposed to be working on "Red Rabbit" with Ben afleck
The story here is that when Sum of all Fears came out, Clancy was so impressed by Afleck in it that he wrote Red Rabbit based around a Jack Ryan that looked, and acted like Ben Afleck. also so incase the movie could be made.

Im probably getting a rabbit. my mom and dad is concerned about how our dogs are going to react to it. We have a VERY mellow jack russel that will be lazy all day(don’t worry she plays in the backyard a lot and we take her for walks) and then we have a chocolate lab, that is trained to hunt ducks. and im afraid that he might like possibly kill my little bunny! and so are my parents… i assured them that they will get used to each other but now im second guessing myself… so if i introduce them slowly and very carefully will they get used to each other? oh and are lab is about a year old still very clumsy, he’s basically like a brown marley dog. well and i know that bunnies are prey and dogs are predators but, i want a bunny super bad. tell me your stories or how you feel about this?

I have a JRT mix (25 lbs; bigger than a JRT, looks to be mixed with Spaniel, maybe?) and he’s been exhibiting behavior that goes along with stalking prey. I already know he loves to stalk rabbits and birds, but it’s becoming where he lies down in the dog park, like he’s watching his prey, then gets up fast and runs toward it. His head down on the ground when he lays down.

His prey at the dog park is often little dogs like chihuahuas or dachshunds. Once he runs up to them, he just dodges them and runs away…no hurting.

I’m just wondering if this is a characteristic typical of a JRT or another dog type.

Would this be classified hunting dog behavior? Or sporting dog?

My honey said post this. In the animal, kingdom pertaining to predators, lions specifically, the male defends the territory from rogue males looking to take over while the Lioness does the hunting to feed the pride; this is instinct and natural order. Some "chicks" find it stange that I hunt. I got my 15th deer in my life last season on the Eglin AFB reservation AKA the range and it has many good little hunting spots. I come from a family of avid hunters and have been raised this way. Guys think it’s odd too because I don’t "look" like the huntress type. My neigbor saw the last one I shot, SMALL, said "you shot a friggin jack rabbit! you should be ashamed of your self!". LOL
Tonight I made some shish-ka-bobs with the pathetic amount of meat that little guy yeilded. I guess I’m trying to ask: At what point did we TRUE providers get away from the duty we used to perform when we were TRUE mamals? Girls don’t knock it until you tried it! is it good to buy a dog kennel or would i have to leave them inside in the basement if its big enough for them?
the only thing i worried about is exercise and their shit in the house?
if there inside or in the kennel, for exercise should i make a trap door or something that leads to the back for them to get exercise and for them to pee and shit outside?

if kids go to school and you and your wife have like a 5-8 hour job whats a good this to do?

please dont say dont have so much dogs cus i need at least 1 duck hunting dog and 1 rabbit hunting dog but i have both of these dogs in male and female to breed.
and more rabbit hunting dogs are better( the most would be 3-4 rabbit dogs)

the rabbit dogs im thinking of is 2 beagles or 2 jack russell terriers and for duck hunting two nova scotia duck-trolling retriever

I wish they had stuck with Afleck. Tom Clancy loved his role as Jack Ryan so much that he wrote "Red Rabbit" specificaly for Ben Afleck to play him again in a movie based on it. Jack was designed in the younger look around Ben Afleck for the book.

Problem with doing some of the books is time.

Culture: In the culture of the Shoshone Indians, all Shoshone men and women must cut their hair at the neck in a show of mourning. The Shoshone Indians have a rich culture to teach their children the history, language, and values of their ancestors. Every two years, the Shoshone Indians elected a new leader for the tribe. Does any one know were I can hunt jack rabbits in northern california or a web site I can go to to find areas thank you

we have been calling in coyotes at my house for a while and when we first started we called in five coyotes in two nights but now we cant get anything in we thought that we might have been over calling them so we waited like two weeks and still nothing. we were using primarily jack rabbit distress calls so we switched to cottontail distress in hopes of getting one but still nothing. then we tried using a howler with the jack rabbit distress and we could get them howling but we couldnt bring them in close enough to see them any help would be appreciated

I live in Cave Creek, Arizona, and am wanting to get into Coyote Hunting. If anyone here is from around here I would greatly appreciate if you knew of any places to go. I go into Tonto National Forest right off of Cave Creek Rd. to hunt jack rabbits. Is this a good spot? Is flatter land better than land with hills? Also I recently purchased a Remington 700 SPS Varmint chambered in .308 win. This is the rifle I will be using since I am starting to get into long range shooting. I am wanting to get the SWFA Super Sniper scope.(10×42) Is this a good scope for yote’ hunting? Thanks guys! Hope to hear from you soon!

I have a Jack Russell Terrier and I want to take him out to hunt sometime since he is always attacking rabbits and ducks near my house. I dont want him killing animals around my house because I am afraid its illegal or something. Is there anywhere where I can pay to take my dog hunting legally?
about the first comment I dont want him to stop killing small animals I just want to find a place where I can do it and not get into trouble because i want to embrace his natural instincts and I dont want him to lose those traits.

I have a jack russell puppy of 9 weeks old and also two pet rabbits - i have introduce the three of them and my jack russell plays with them and seems to be fine by them being around - I realize jack Russell’s are bred to hunt rabbits and would never leave them alone together - when the dog matures is she likely to kill the rabbits. At the moment they are all friends and don’t want to deprive my rabbit from coming indoors but don’t want to jeopardize their safety either!!
