I will be mainly hunting whitetail deer and varmints. I currently have a Nikon 4-12X50 on my .300 Win Mag and love it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what scope I should get?

Am I required to purchase a hunting license to hunt squirrel and rabbit in NC? My friends tell me no because they’re considered varmint, but i would like to make sure
I live in ontario and my hunting partner owns some farm land which i hunt rabbit, deer, duck&geese and this year i am hunting coyote. Now there are tons of coyote there, last year while hunting whitetail i saw 4 coyotes in 3 hours.
Now my hunting partner is using his 223. with 55 grain ballistic silver tips. I dont own a varmint load but i am getting one soon. Im looking into getting a 22-250 because i have hunted with it before and loved it. I was either thinking of getting it in the remington model 700 sps stainless or the browning A-Bolt varmint stalker. Which one should i get? But i am hunting with a 270. win 100 grain untill i get it
My state has no stipulation on ammunition requirements for varmint and nuisance animal hunting. If the hunter wishes to use FMJ he may do so. Or JSP, JHP, hard cast lead, anything they want to use is ok. Would you ever consider using full metal jacket ammunition for varmint, pest and nuisance animal hunting? List reasons why, or why not if you don’t mind. I already have a mindset on this topic, and I’m curious what others thoughts are on this subject.
I am going to go after prairie dogs. I have loaded my .243 Win with IMR 4350, 90 gr Spitzer. My friends said I had to heavy of a bullet for prairie dogs. I told them something that just made them jump out of there seats. I heard that Newell and some of his friends would be in the area, and if we were lucky we could take a few out, what do you know atleast 20 others started hearing about this and made similar loads. Do you think this will take out and make a huge splatter of crap when hit, or is this to much.
I shoot a deer. I eat the deer. Well, I at least eat most of the deer. Well, maybe most of the easy to cut off muscle and organs. You shoot a coyote, you don’t eat it. You shoot a woodchuck, you don’t eat it. You shoot a crow, you don’t eat it. Should you be shooting things you don’t eat?
And what is the point of people who want to hunt wolf? You aren’t going to eat it, are you?

You don’t like my question. I have a solution.
because i’m going to be hunting varmints/predators in colorado springs, colorado and i’m going to be in huge fields of mixed dead grass and live grass thanks
Does anyone have any experience with affordable rifle scopes for night time varmint hunting? What’s a good website to compare some different models? Thanx.
How about generation 1 N.V.? Infrared rifle scopes or simillar?
I’m looking for the perrfect .223 AR for varmint/preadtor hunting. I was specifically looking for a 24” stainless steel barrel and I was especially interested in the DPMS AR-15. If you have any brands you’ve found success and or know are high or of the highest quality please let me know, much appreciated!
I have a Marlin 882 22 magnum. I’ve heard of ballistic tip rounds for other calibers but what about my .22 for varmint hunting and small game. Thanks
I was wondering if over in Africa there are any varmint hunts available. I have been prairie dog hunting here in Texas and its some of the most fun I have ever had. I was just wondering if there are any varmint hunts in africa where the fun is comparable to that of a prairie dog hunt.
? Because I am looking for a quiet yet powerful 22. For varmint hunting and target practicing. And this one caught my eye, If any has any other suggestions on a better 22 please confront me, thanks.
I had done some studying on coyote hunting and its strategies. Now I think that I’m ready to head afield, I read several reports on Minnesota coyote population; it stated that most of the coyote population were in the southern part of the state, but I just can’t narrow it down to a good spot to call and hunt them.
i am thinking of getting a 50 lb. longbow to hunt with. other than varmints, what can i hunt with a 50 lb. bow?
thx
Just wondered if this was one of the better varmint barrels for an AR-15. Also, which length would be good for coyote hunting/home protection. Probably go with 18". Think they’re actually made from Wilson, so you’d think they would be very good.
I just got a Gamo Varmint Hunter and i found that wadcutter pellets are way more accurate than any of the hunting pellets that i have tried ( Gamo rounded, Gamo magnum, Gamo master point, Gamo red fire, and Beeman hollow points) I was just wondering if the benefits of the hunting pellets are enough to make up for the loss of accuracy for squirell hunting and shooting black birds
What is the best grain, type, and shape (FMJ, HP, or SP) bullet to get for coyote hunting in .223 caliber. What ammo should I buy that is reasonably priced in .223 caliber that will definitely take down a coyote up to 150 yards, and what grain, type, and shape should i get for small game hunting/varmint hunting in .223 also. Please answer full questions and tell me what brand and price if possible. PICS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED (bullets and/or varmints shot with .223) thanks
Don’t reply hunting for wild buffalo on the Serengeti, something achievable for the average middle class person is requested..
I mean something you have done before and look forward to such as Deer or Varmint, Coyotes or Boar or Bear, whatever…..
Any reason why this one game type is specially enjoyable to you
Im looking at a remington 700 but what caliber would be effective for whitetail in fairly heavy brush as well as open fields? Im not looking to shoot over 150 yards but something that will push 300 might be useful. I’m not afraid of a good kick but would like to be able to use my arm after a bit of practice.
So my grandfather use to taking me groundhog hunting in Ohio quite often, So i recently decided to get back into hunting and after recently acquiring my hunting license i would like to go groundhog hunting again but don’t know exactly what to do with them after the hunt. I know not to eat them as there considered varmint and pest here in ohio so any pointers would be nice.
I want a high powered air rifle (1000 fps or more) to hunt varmints and rodents. I am looking for a place to buy and what to buy. Hoping for a price under 300 too. Thanks!
Man I love seeing him on the ranch, working like the Marlboro man.
He cuts his own brush for the camera’s. He hunts down varmints. And then he’ll make one of his press conferences bashing something some Democrat did somewhere.
What a dreamy uniter of government.
He broke a record this week. He’s the most vacationed President ever and he’s been at war for almost his entire Presidency. Man, that’s a hands off style!
Go get em Buckaroo!
So how many trees will the little Buckaroo cut this vacation?
on it. Also add all kinds of accessories to it so I can go out Varmint hunting with it.it looks like this right now.

Anyone have experience/ratings for the Truglo 8-32X44 scope for varmint hunting? I own a Simmons Prairie master 8-32X44 and it is a great scope but no longer made. I called Natchez and they said these two makes are not the same scope. The price is about out the door for the Truglo and is about the same for the Prairie master scope I own.
I’m using a .22, and am new to the hunt, how much is a licence for small critters. Most places I have seached have very little info on hunting small varmint, and leaseing can get very expensive. I’m a veteran attending school and just picked up this hobby to keep me busy.
