Free men do not need permission to bear arms. You are not free in Comunistfornia.
Wow.
No where. It is illegal, and you could be fined and even possibly jailed for animal cruelty and human endangerment.
Ask the Department of Fish and Game.
Well when it comes to hunting in general you can hunt anything with a semi-auto. But you can only have so many rounds in the gun at one time. I believe it's 3 but I think that may only be for shotguns. You also may have to get some 5 round magazines as I'm pretty sure you cannot hunt with a 30 rounder. But yours is already pinned at 10 so… You can still hunt but filling the magazine full is a no-no.
look at what you said "Is it legal to hunt non game"
if it is non game than you can not hunt it, it's considered non game.
if you worded your question wrong the best approach is to e-mail or call the California department of game and fish.
Yes it is and there's plenty of ground squirrels near Bakersfield.
Game and fish would be the first people I would call. then try calling your local sheriff office if you cant get ahold of them.
Assuming its legal to fire a rifle where you're going to be hunting, according to the California hunting regulations booklet it looks like its legal to use a semi-automatic rifle.
You may be able to contact a rancher in rural areas to help control ground squirrel poplulations. Ask around at your local range or waterin hole. Good luck.
