An 80-year-old man went to his doctor for his
quarterly check-up. The doctor asked him how he was
feeling and the 80-year-old said "Things are great and
I’ve never felt better. I now have a 20 Year-old bride
who is pregnant with my child. So what do you think
about that?"
The doctor considered his question for a minute and
then began. "I have an older friend, much like you,
who is an avid hunter and never misses a season. One
day when he was setting off hunting, he was in a bit
of a hurry and accidentally picked up his walking cane
instead of his gun. As he neared a lake he came
across a very large male beaver sitting at the water’s
edge. He realized he’d left his gun at home and so
couldn’t shoot the magnificent creature but out of
habit he raised his cane, aimed it at the animal as if
it was his favorite hunting rifle and went ‘bang,
bang’. Miraculously, two shots rang out and the beaver
fell over dead.
Now, what do you think of that?" asked the doctor. The
80-year-old said, "If you ask me, I’d say somebody
else pumped a couple of rounds into that beaver."
The doctor replied, "My point exactly".
I have a very big problem I have tried trapping the pest but he broke the cage!!! so all there is now to do is HUNT AND KILL IT!!!!! but I don’t know how to hunt a beaver so could anyone tell me how to hunt a beaver…. thank you…..
Greetings.
I’m about to invest in my first rifle. I live i Norway, and will use this rifle mainly for Big game hunting. First and foremost, Caribous, beaver but maybe one day, also moose.
My question is, what caliber should i choose for best distance and take down capacity.
I have looked at following calibers, the 7mm rem mag, .308 and finally the .30-06
Do you guys have any suggestions on what calibre i should invest in?
thx
I’m having trouble with this one beaver… so if you know a thing or two about beaver hunting, please let me know how you handle it.
My Love of Hunting ~
I got the fever
To hunt the wild beaver
For that beaver smile
I would walk a mile
The bigger the tail
The easier to nail
When I see a beaver large
It makes me want to discharge
Cause there’s nothing as sweet
As wild beaver meat
I live in northern Wisconsin 20 miles from Lake Superior and I have allready taken hunters safety and been hunting for five years but I want to try trapping this fall. I live right by a ton of lakes and there are beaver, muskrat, foxes, racoons, coyotes etc.
I have also looked at traps and haven’t found many cheap ones so any information about traps and trapping would be just great!!!!!!!!!
In the 1800s, the international fur trade took place in America. The recent purchase of the Louisiana Territory made beaver hunting an easily accessed hobby.
I am doing a project on the Oregon Trail, and in my group, I have to find out about the fur trade.
If you have any cool facts or input, please help me ASAP!!
*Note: I will delete your answer if you don’t have a sufficient source.*
That’s fine except he says the are hunting the illusive
two-legged beaver. I am worried because I don’t think its legal to hunt beaver. Does anyone know? I don’t want any legal trouble.
oops!! Either illusive or elusive would work, but elusive is definitely better!! I am typing in a frenzy from being so worried!!

it would be mostly for beaver, nutria, and coyotes
I hunt in a swamp, so most of my shots will be within 100yds.
I’m seriously thinking about getting one tomorrow. I’m looking at a savage bolt with the accutrigger. By the way, which ammo is cheaper?

I enjoy beaver hunting as often as time allows.
Is there any way I could make searching and hunting beaver interesting for her?
I would really like for her to get involved, rather than just hearing about the beaver I found after I'm done hunting. I think she would enjoy it a lot, and I'd love to watch her enjoy herself.
Thanks, and God Bless!
