A little movie showing the 97D Rifle on a Prairie Dog shooting trip. Staring Ricky Williams as the varmint hunter. Filmed and narrated by Eben Brown.
Learn how to reload ammunition for rifles. Instruction video in hand loading rifle cartridges, which gives you the shooters, more accurate loads, in tailoring it to your rifle. And as an extra bonus it is saving the shooter, considerable money. In precision shooting, hunting rifles, target rifles, varmint rifles, tactical rifles, and bench rest rifles, hand loads are used exclusively for highest accuracy in competition. Custom made reloading dies by gunsmiths or hand dies from LE Wilson are mostly used. Reloading cartridges gives you flexibility in powder charge and selection of quality bullets, powder and primers, for your rifle, thus improving accuracy. Good reloding manual is a must to have, Sierra, Hornady,Nosler, Vihtavuori, Norma, and others publish very good reloading manuals.
I am 17 turning 18 in January. I live in the country have a lot of varmints and deer on a couple 100 acre property( forest, fields you know ) I am thinking maybe a semi-automatic maybe .223? I want to go big game hunting around Canada. So I am thinking of getting two rifles —1 varmint semi—-1 bolt action big bastard—- I have a clean record and wont be stupid with it I am just wondering how hard will it be for me to maybe get a remington r-25? I live in Ontario. I am guessing its a restricted firearm if i just want to use the gun for target and hunting will it not be a problem going through the safety courses and what not? Can you help me in any way here or give me any tips or advice?
In my last question I asked about the difference between the 3 common .22 bullets.
Me and my boyfriend were talking about a good gun for me to get and he said that a .22 or a .223 would be a good choice. He has a .22 pistol and a .22 lever action and the leaver action can shoot all 3 types of .22 bullets.
I don’t know much about .22 rifles. I’d be getting the gun for varmint control/some hunting (rabbits, squirrels, armadillos, etc..) and just shooting.
I like bolt actions and I like the way a leaver action looks too, but I’ve never shot one… yet.
I have about 5 from graduation money and I don’t need a very expensive gun.. doesn’t really need a scope.. peep sights would be alright with me too. I prefer a wooden stock over synthetic too. Help?
What would be a good gun or some good guns to look into getting?
I am 18, so there’s no need to freak out lol
Also, would a pawn shop be a good place to get one?
This is my dad’s, was my grandpa’s gun (the one that I was talking about in my previous question).
A gun like this would be fine with me.

Its purdy scuffed up, but it’s been around a while.
I am wanting to get a Rossi single shot .223 remington adult/full size rifle sometime soon. Are they good rifles for the money and do they last long/dependable/accurate. I was planning on getting a cheap .223 just for plinking and varmint hunting, will this one work. I have found it on a website for only 6 regular barrel or 0 heavy barrel. what is the differences between the barrels. Should i pay 0 for a Rossi .223 rifle/ Is it a good gun/buy? Thanks for answering and any tips and advice greatly appreciated!
I need a new varmint rifle. My buddys farm has a coyote problem and there eating his chickens, whiles his 2 neighbors are also having the same problems with chickens and turkeys. The yotes are eating them and scaring the calfs. He and his neighbors asked me to hunt them. I use to borrow a rifle from a friend but hes hunting with me. I dont really want a 223. rem. But i cant decide between a 204. ruger, 22-250. rem or the 243. win. I have a 12 guage, 30-30. win, 7mm rem mag and a 30-06 but i cant use the rifles of that caliber where i hunt and i need a longer range firearm then a 12 gauge. I find the 204 interesting but i dont know anyone who shoots one. I love the 22-250 and the 243. win. I was thinking of getting the 243. win cause if i needed too then i could take a deer or too, but at the same time im not sure if i want to use this rifle for just strickly varmint or not. What would you suggest? I believe i will be getting it in a Tikka T3 Laminated Stainless with a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10×42mm silver with BDC reticle or a Nikon buckmaster 4.5-14×40mm silver without BDC reticle. as well as a Harris bipod but i dont know what size
Stupidnameshaveallbeentaken- i cant use a 30-30, 7mm or my 30-06 because there all bigger then .275. In my area we cant use anything bigger then .275 so we can use a 270. win and down.
I have just purchased a Mannlicher Steyr Scout in .223 rem. I am looking for a good quality rifle scope to match for hunting smaller varmints at longer ranges. I would prefer a lower-end Nikon or Zeiss over a Leupold this time (I already have two Leupolds on my other rifles). I need something with a little more light transmission than Leupold can offer. Naturally I want a rugged dependable scope with some level of water resistance. My budget is 0USD. I might stretch this to 0USD for the right scope. I will be mounting the scope in the traditional manner (not like the Jeff Cooper Steyr). Please include zoom and objective sizes most suited to this rifle and hunting requirements.
Thanks all
Hey everyone. My dad just got done telling me that i could get a varmint rifle for my birthday i already have like 3 other large rifles.I live in the country but there are still houses around. It’s legal to shoot any kinda game with any kind of gun out here in texas. But i need to know what kind of caliber gun should i use.I need something with a lot of knock down power but cant go far as in over 350 yards. So i was thinking about a single shot .223 but i dont know.I will be hunting varmints and predators but i can only get a rifle but i dont wanna spend over 0.
I have a .243 bolt action but it travels to far of a distance.
Im am looking for a rifle for varmint shooting and a bit of target shooting.

i am looking at buying a taurus rifle i dont know which model yet but i enjoy the look and the pump action. and i was wondering wich model you guys would recommend for varmint hunting and just all around fun. i have thousands of ground squirrels and rabbits. and also can a scope be put on these rifles? i am looking at the model 72 .22 mag pump action carbine in blue steel. and might seem stupid but what the heck is blued steel? thanks alot for the help
or can you please tell me a nice 22 or something that is pump action that is good for varmint hunting. and what is a 17hmr is that smaller then a 22?
because there insignificant "varmints"….. all they do is eat and crap and make more varmints and its fun and they eat my garden and dig holes all through my pasture land
I was looking at these Rifles in a 223 caliber a Savage model 112VS,
Remington model 700, Kimber M84, Ruger & Tikka to go out Varmint Hunting with I would like to know which would be better for me I was thinking either the Remington model 700 or Kimber M84 Rifles and want to put a Leupold VXIII 6.5 20-50mm LR scope on it Do any of you have experiance wih either of these Rifles or which one is best for Varmint Hunting.

The reason im asking this question is because i just received some rifles and im going on a Black Bear hunt this year. Im working this summer and im saving up to buy a new varmint rifle. I use to hunt with my buddys and my dads friends cause my dad never owned one and now that im old enough im going to get my own. I just want to know your Favorite rifle, something you take big game with and why? then i want to know whats your favorite caliber for varmint and what model you use. Im debating between a 22-250. rem and a 243. win both in a Tikka T3 Laminated Stainless
Im going to buy my first rifle and I want to get a rifle that has the potential to be a target shooting rifle, up to 200 or 300 yds, and could be used to hunt deer. I know about all of the standard rifles, but ive heard of people hunting with an AR, The only one i could find that fits inside my price range, less than around 0, is the Model 1 ar15 varmint rifle kit 24" in the 5.56 NATO. I don’t know much about the AR, is that rifle a good rifle for both target shooting and deer hunting, most likely target shooting. There is a link to the page bellow.

I was just wondering, i know your not allowed to hunt with, and more importanly own, some rifles in certain states. What states are you allowed to own that rifle in, in peticular what states in New England, MA, VT, NY, and NH in peticular. Or how would i find that out?
Also, I’ve been hearing about upper and lower kits, whats the difference and what are they?
does that kit come with EVERYTHING you need to build, (if it requires you to build it), or assemble it? I’ve looked at other kits that say it is to put on a lower reciever.
anyone else guns? pellets? etc.?

beeman rs2 .22

note:i’m kind of spoiled i actually wish i wasnt spoiled so much.really.
Bench rest rifle shooting,is the ultimate in rifle accuracy. In this video we see one group in the making, shot by Hafsteinn Magnusson, with his Heavy Bench Class Hart rifle, 6 MM Rem BR. Leupold 45X scope,Hart Barrel.Group is shot at 100 Meters.
I am hunting with 4 of my favorite people in the world. My dad, my dads best friend and his son. My dad doesn’t care for fur so he uses the 270. win. My dads best friend uses a 223. and his son uses the 22-250. Now i own a 270. but i want a smaller gun for fur. I have shot both these rifles and i like the 22-250 better. I have also shot the 204. ruger and i loved it.
i want either the 22-250 or the 204. ruger but i dont know which one. Most people tell me the 22-250 because the have never shot or seen a 204. I want to know from the people who have experience with both of these calibres.
Looking for a new rifle and here’s a list of rifles I’ve looked at. The problem is nobody I know shoots one that I can try out. Model 700 VSF
Model 700 SPS Varmint
Model 700 VTR
Model 700 Sendero SF II
I would like the caliber to be in 308. Any input on either of these would be great. I am a huge hunter and want to get into target competition to improve my markmenship and its a extension of hunting seasom. Every thing that I’ve read has pointed to this caliber. I do not reload yet but am looking towards it. I currently shoot a 25-06 Rem, but am looking to improve it over the next few months (stock, triger, barrel and action. I’m just average guy who enjoys shooting to the full extent and looking for any advise on these guns or others that you have worked with. Thanks
I am deciding on which of these rifles to purchase:
Remington SPS Varmint
- I like this rifle because of its stock and barrel length, but what i don’t like about it is that the barrel is not free floating, does not have a detachable magazine and i have read some reviews which say that remington has had some “bad apples” come out of the production line.
Tikka T3 Super Varmint
-i also like this rifle because of the stock, but i also hear it has a very smooth bolt action. It has a Picatinny rail for mounts, adjustable cheek piece, free floating barrel and it has a detachable magazine. But what i like most of this rifle, is that tikka makes sure that every rifle that leaves there factory has to shoot 1 MOA. The only thing which i do not like, is that it is foreign. Not that i hat them or anything, its just that i would like to support american factories.
I will be using the rifle for varmint hunting (coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, etc) and target shooting.
hello all, i have been looking into buying a new hunting rifle and have settled on the .243 win. cal. because i will be hunting coyotes, groundhogs, etc. and deer. now i am having some difficulties choosing a rifle. i am split between two, the savage model 110 and the tikka t3 series.
i have chosen these two rifles because they are relatively cheap and in my price range which is about 500-600$$ max. i am having trouble finding a rifle because i am left-handed and idk… the savage is cheaper and all, also something that would help me decide on which one to buy would be the availability of parts and how cheap the parts are.
which model has the most parts readily available? so could i have some help on which one is better, has more parts/accessories, is left handed and is blued. could you help find one on the internet? i seem to can't find any. i appreciated all your help… thanks in advance.
ask me if you have any questions that may help clarify anything that is unclear.
or not just the savage 110, possibly any other model savage such as the 111. etc.
